Rutger Hauer has the lead role in a new gritty genre film “Hobo with a Shotgun” but should the film be renamed to “Fokker with a shotgun”?.
Daniel Foged, one of the producers behind the renowned production company Foking Films, claims that Nova Scotian filmmakers Jason Eisener, John Davies, and Rob Cotteril stole the script at Roskilde festival while timetraveling in the year 2021.
When confronted by the “unlikeliness” of this claim, Daniel Foged shakes his head, and states that “A story like this can only spring from the minds of the writers at Foking Films”.
Foking Films has not yet decided whether or not to sue the named Nova Scotian film makers, for as Daniel says “We are still negotiating about the possibility of a title change and free alcohol on Roskilde for the years to come”
The two-minute trailer essentially lives up to its title – a pissed off hobo (Rutger Hauer) goes around dealing out vigilante justice with the aid of a shotgun. It can be seen here: Nova.
Addition to news item made on 21 May 2011: Hans Bruntt is the director of several Foking Films and was seen at a “Hobo with a Shotgun” screening in Aarhus recently. He seemed to neglect the allegations of “rip off” by Foged, and mostly ignored our questions. “This is a complicated film and I need time to think. I never experienced so much violence and glorification of life on the streets. I cannot comment, but… we could and should have been involved.”
